Bladefree Lasik surgery

IntraLase bladefree lasik surgery

Bubble-Powered For A Blade-Free LASIK Experience, that is what The IntraLase Lasik Surgery method is all about. The IntraLase laser is a 100% blade-free approach to corneal flap creation which makes the critical first step in the LASIK procedure safer than ever before.

The creation of the flap prepares the eye for the second step of the LASIK procedure, when the excimer laser is used on the inner cornea to correct vision.

The IntraLase laser surgery method creates the corneal flap by applying very small and very fast laser light pulses. This is a much safer way to create the flap than the traditional metal blade (microkeratome). It is safer because it is computer driven. No shaky surgery hands to make mistakes.

Each pulse of the laser passes through the top layers of your cornea and forms a microscopic bubble at a depth and position within your eye, controlled by a computer that has been programmed by the lasik surgeon after a thorough investigation of your eye sigth. This is custom lasik of the future.

As the IntraLase laser moves over your eye, a uniform layer of bubbles forms just below the corneal surface. Your lasik eye surgeon creates your corneal flap by carefully separating the tissue where the laser created those bubbles. The corneal flap is then folded back so the doctor can perform the second step of your LASIK treatment with the eximer laser.

Using the latest IntraLase laser technology, your corneal flap can be made very fast and very safely, ito only takes about 15 seconds per eye. This is so fast that there are no needs for drops to prevent dry eyes which is very common in normal lasik surgery when usin a microkeratome to create the corneal flap.

With IntraLase laser the entire LASIK procedure takes about 10 minutes. Once the entire procedure is completed, the corneal flap created with the IntraLase Method locks back into position like hand in glove which leads to a shorter time to normal vision after the laser surgery.

Since the introduction of IntraLase lasik surgery in 2006 more than one million surgeries have been performed safely and effectively using the IntraLase Method.

Advantages of the Bladeless lasik surgery method

Better vision. More patients achieves vision that is 20/20 or better when IntraLase laser is used for the LASIK eye surgery procedure.

Better night vision. Many IntraLase all laser lasik patients report better quality of vision in terms of their ability to see well in low light such as at dusk or at night

Custom Lasik. The IntraLase all-laser lasik surgery enables your eye surgeon to custom make the flap according to the shape of your eye. Everything can be precisely determined. This is important because everyone’s eyes are different.

Only a certified lasik eye surgeon can determine if LASIK and the IntraLase Method is right for you so you should ask your doctor for a complete advice of risks and complications associated with LASIK and the IntraLase Method before you decide if this is for you.

iLASIK - Total Custom Lasik

Nobody’s eyes are like someone else’s, so when it comes to achieving perfect vision, the vision correction surgery should be adopted to your eyes. Custom made to fit your eyes. Now this is possible.

The iLASIK vision surgery procedure is the first vision correction procedure ever that is designed to be 100 percent custom-fit the whole nine yards. The iLASIK surgery procedure looks at the uniqueness of your two eyes, from the shape of your corneas to the minuscule nuances of your eye’s anatomy. The iLASIK eye surgery procedure is designed to give you the exact correction you need to achieve 20/20 or better vision.

The iLASIK procedure has been a decade in the making, with each new advancement furthering the next. With this unveiling, we have reached the final frontier. Quite honestly, there is nothing better on the horizon.

Said Dr. Kerry Solomon, professor of ophthalmology at the Medical University of South Carolina and an iLASIK patient.

The iLASIK surgery concept is a combination of today’s leading technologies to build the perfect lasik custom made bladeless eye surgery possible.

Prior to the iLASIK procedure, the burden was on the patient to research the best LASIK technologies and then try to identify a lasik eye surgeon who offered the particular combination of technologies the patient wanted.

The iLASIK brand removes the confusion in LASIK advertising as patients now can find all of the most advanced laser vision correction technologies available today under the banner of one premium procedure.

Customizing the iLASIK Procedure

The iLASIK vision surgery procedure is 100 percent tailor-made for every single patient, their vision and their eyes. Three-dimensional wavefront mapping, precise measurement and the use of state-of-the-art laser eye surgery technologies makes the iLASIK procedure different from all others laser surgery procedures.

The iLASIK vision surgery procedure also provides better visual outcomes and superior safety through reduced flap complications. The iLASIK procedure is performed in two steps:

1: The iLASIK surgeon measures and maps the uniqueness of your two eyes. The three-dimensional mapping known as a WaveScan map creates a blueprint of your eyes. This blueprint allows the iLASIK surgeon to custom-fit the iLASIK laser surgery procedure for each of your eyes.

2: Two different kind of lasers are used in the iLASIK procedure. The ultra-fast first laser creates a thin corneal flap, which is then folded back to allow the second laser to correct your vision based on the WaveScan blueprint of your eyes. The procedure takes just minutes and is a virtually painless procedure. The potential for 20/20 or better vision is high as is the safety through reduced flap complications.

You might include a third step in the i lasik surgery procedure as well, that is the post surgery follow up. To check that the laser vision surgery went ok.

More than a decade since FDA approval, LASIK remains the most common elective surgical procedure to date. Through vast clinical research the combination of technologies that gave us iLASIK was discovered.

The femtosecond and wavefront guided lasers, iris registration and 3-D mapping provides superior safety and better visual outcomes for patients than all previous LASIK techniques through reduced flap complications.

Clinical studies using one of the components in the iLASIK procedure show that more than 95 percent of iLASIK all laser vision correction passed driving tests without glasses one year after the iLASIK vision surgery.

Delarusso All LASIK

Dr. Joseph Delarusso said that NASA has approved, for the first time ever, the laser eye surgery technique Dr. Delarusso invented and calls all-laser Lasik, to improve the vision of its astronaut candidates. This is a great relief for many people who have previously failed the vision tests.

Dr. Delarusso started the all-laser Lasik surgery in his New York City office back in 2002. Dr. Dellarusso marketed the all laser lasik as a safer and more precise lasik, as there are no manual steps involved, only precision LASIK laser. This kind of laser used is often know as IntraLase Lasik, after the first laser invented for the purpose of cutting the flap in the cornea.

NASA will now accept candidates that previously failed the vision requirement if they undergone a Lasik procedure, or more presicley, the bladeless all laser lasik performed by Delarusso in New York and New Jersey. The procedure must be performed without the use of a blade, which is known as Intralase Lasik or all-laser Lasik. Traditional LASIK surgery using non laser cutting of the cornea is not approved.

NASA is following the lead by other branches of the US military which after an extensive study determined that all-laser lasik, or bladeless lasik, or Intralase Lasik, is safe for the military, especially for soldiers in combat.

The extreme conditions of NASA pilots, mission specialists make even simple contact lenses intolerable. More astronaut candidates with vision problems will now qualify.

The decision by the military and NASA reflect how safe this type of lasik is now considered.

Doctor Joseph Delarusso said and continued;

Lasik surpasses in safety even the wearing of contact lenses.

Lasik is the most popular self-improvement surgery in the US with over 11 million lasik eye surgery procedures performed since 1996. Until introduced by Dr. Delarusso in 2002, the lasik procedure was performed with the use of a blade, which was unfortunately associated with some complications.

The intralase all-laser lasik is now the standard form of lasik surgery, says Dr. Delarusso. Dr. Delarusso’s offices has been proud in being the first in recognizing the safety and precision of all laser lasik and has been the intralase lasik pioneer over the past five and a half years.
